What happened in the world in these 4 decades? What are the advances and setbacks that have been allowing or preventing the realization of dreams of a sustainable life on a welcoming planet? Through the screens of ECOCINE, in these 3 decades, many stories of victories, defeats, losses, gains, tragedies, overcoming, denunciations, good practices have passed... Stories that recharge optimism or that make us disbelieve in the possibilities of harmonious coexistence between species , stories to remember and others we can't forget. But always stories that have a common denominator: the love for our planet. If the signatures of heads of state on documents built with beautiful words failed to guarantee changes in standards capable of sustaining LIFE, perhaps the union of peoples can produce this effect. But union can only occur if there is respect for the other, and this respect comes through the knowledge and perception that we are all in the same boat. We are all one. ECOCINE, in these 30 years of stories, once again stands as a free – and perhaps libertarian – space where polyphony is capable of producing, in unison, the call/appeal for a sustainable life now. When the environment became a “product” in markets aimed at building false images, ECOCINE said “no”. And he chose to follow his paths, sometimes on small dirt roads, in various corners of Brazil and abroad, unaccompanied by major sponsors, but always faithful to his purpose of transforming through freedom of expression. And it is always with a renewed sense of pride in its history that ECOCINE presents itself and invites all voices to dialogue. Has it been easy? No. But as you say
